KEY FEATURES

The KW01 miniature metal circular electrical connectors are precision engineered, multi-pin, compact and highly-robust circular push-pull connectors used in various industries where space and cost are especially critical.
The KW01.PHG Female Solder Cable Receptacle mates with the Male Solder Plug (KW01.FGG) for cable-to-cable connections.
Its unparalleled push-pull, self-latching mechanism allows for positive engagement giving an audible sound and clicking feel leading to a quick and secure engagement and disengagement from its mating part without having bulky, weight and space-consuming clips and bayonets.
Connectors are designed to have their metal shells make contact with one another first during mating before pins and sockets allowing grounding and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. Pins are also recessed and scoop-proof preventing bent pins and allowing a blind mate.
Gold-plated copper alloy contacts, corrosion resistant finishing allow these rugged, high-performance and light weight connectors to demonstrate high reliability in harsh and extreme environments conditions.
Connectors include the cable collet (strain relief) and bend relief and are 0^o keyed (polarization).
Metal shells with conductive plating allow for low Grounding and Bonding resistance and 360^o screening for EMI/EMC shielding.
Designed to pass DO-160F aerospace qualification testing.
Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) engineering thermoplastic used for the insulator is chemical-resistant, heat-resistant and is inherently flame retardant with a UL94V-0 flammability rating. It has excellent dielectric characteristics and is inert to steam (no moisture absorption), strong bases, fuels and acids.

Each PHG connector comes with an internal cable collet that works as a strain relief and tightens down on the electrical cable.
When a cable collet is selected (DXX) using the outer diameter of the application's electrical cable, the corresponding bend relief is supplied to match the same electrical cable.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Slip the Bend Relief (Item No.7), Collet Nut (Item No.6) and Cable Collet (Item No.5) in this sequence thru the front end of the electrical cable that will be soldered.
After soldering wires to the contacts on the Insulator (Item No.2), mate the insulator to both halves of the insulator shell (Item No.3 & No.4) ensuring that the protruding key on the plastic Insulator sits within the cutout on the Insulator Shell as shown in Figure 2 (See Drawing).
Insert the pre-assembled Insulator and Insulator Shells into the Connector Shell (Item No.1) making sure that the key of the Insulator Shell is in-line with the red dot on the Connector Shell (critical).

Be careful during the insertion that the keys on the Insulator and the Insulator Shell remains mated with one another or the contact positions will not be keyed correctly and will not mate with another connector.
Insert the Cable Collet (Item No.5) into the Connector Shell (Item No.1) and mate it to the Insulator Shell. Rotate the Cable Collet ±15^o and not more than this until the key of the Insulator Shells has mated with the internal key within the Connector Shell (Item No.1). The Cable Collet shall not be able to be rotated anymore at this point.
Temporary pull out the Cable Collet to visually verify that the key of the Insulator Shell is in-line with the red dot. Re-insert the Cable Collet if so.
Visually verify from the front-face of the connector that the contacts are aligned correctly and per the contact configuration in the drawing (critical). Mate with a mating connector if needed.
Screw on the Collet Nut and tighten to the required torque value (See Drawing).
Install the Bend Relief (Item No.7) onto the lip of the Collet Nut (Item No.6).
